Create Your Own Royal Wedding

With less than a week to go until Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s royal wedding, we can’t wait to see what the special occasion has in store. The cake is being iced, and the final adjustments to the finer details are being made. The normal wedding jitters will begin for the happy couple, but for all of us at home, we just need to plump our cushions, find the right spot on the sofa and watch the wedding commence.

But we are all princes and princesses at heart, and we can’t wait to celebrate with our own happy couple J & H on Saturday. So this weeks blog we wanted to give you our top tips to create your very own royal occasion.

Wedding Website:

The official royal wedding website allows everyone to be aware of the details and whereabouts of the happy couple at all times. Why not tell your friends and family the important info of the day through your own wedding website?

Theming:

Create a mood board of your own royal wedding ideas. That way you can see which things go together and which ones don’t, so you don’t waste any precious pennies.

Music:

The Royal weddings are known for beautiful choirs, fanfares and live orchestras. A choir or a string quartet could be a beautiful addition to your wedding ceremony. At Glenfall we have a beautiful piano perfect for a pianist to entertain and flood the venue with delicate notes.

Personal Touches:

The Royals are known for having personalised bottles of Champagne for his guests. How about treating each table to a less expensive bottle but putting it in one of these fabulous boxes, or great for personal gifts. Personalised Wine Boxes

Food:

It doesn’t have to be oysters, caviar and Chateaubriand. A big favourite of ours is to provide each table with a joint of meat and appoint a carver (complete with chef’s hat and apron). It is not expensive, and it really gets your guests talking to each other. Our catering companies have fantastic ideas for all types of weddings and budgets from Afternoon Tea to a Hog Roast.

Drinks:

If a full-on cocktail bar is out of the question why not create a signature wedding cocktail? Choose your favourite spirit and add a mixer that fits in with the colour scheme. Add little flags and give it a personalised name with memories from your relationship; you can even send your guests home with the recipe!

Pampering:

To make sure you walk down the aisle with a  ‘glow’ you need to be relaxed.  We offer fantastic pamper parties and workshops at our house. This could be perfect pre-wedding or a really fun idea for a hen do activity. Check out these ladies for some ideas Creative Head Workshops. We can also throw in a Gin Tasting tour if that is more your thing.

The Dress:

If haute couture is out of your price range, take a look at websites like Sell My Wedding Dress. Most dresses are second hand and include top names like Philippa Lepley and Vera Wang. You can choose by designer, size, style and even put requests on the site if you know the dress that you want. Alternatively, check out FB for pre-loved wedding dress bargains. Bridal boutiques also have sales, end of lines and of the rail so well worth contacting them to snap up a designer bargain.

Always remember to enjoy every second and our team is always on hand to help you bring your dream day to life.

Enjoy the Royal Wedding as much as we will. Glenfall Team.
