Alfresco Wedding Breakfast at Glenfall House
Charlotte Burn Photography
Whilst the inspiration for this shoot very much came from the potential restrictions on indoor wedding breakfasts after Covid-19, we want to take a minute to say WOW! Alfresco wedding breakfasts could just be the way forward with or without social distancing guidelines. Because quite simply, it was beautiful!

Alfresco wedding breakfasts aren't hugely popular in the UK and we can probably put that down to the unpredictable weather we can have. But, when the weather is right and you have a view like we have here at Glenfall House - it is pure heaven.

There's something truly magical about dining outdoors in your garden, and Glenfall's beautiful garden surrounded by the Cotswold hills truly lends itself to the many options available.

Whether its breakfast on the terrace, a picnic on the lawn, wedding breakfast on our top lawn or a fancy BBQ on a balmy summer evening, feasting alfresco makes happy moments with friends and family all the more memorable; why not plan your food outside making the most of our breathtaking views and country garden.
TOP TIPS FOR AN ALFRESCO WEDDING BREAKFAST:

Dress the table with flowers matching the colour of the gardens. The Glenfall team used a selection of our grown flowers for this shoot and it really made the tables and set up become one with the garden - it was beautiful.

Keep it simple - the beauty of having it outside is the surroundings, so you really don't need to go over the top with your decorations. We used 2 heavy vases per table and small bud vases in between and it was just the right amount.

Avoid anything that may blow away. If you are wanting to create a seating plan for your guests place cards such as calligraphy marble tiles, jam jars with labels on, a mini plant etc -  Items that naturally have a little more weight to them will work a lot better then anything paper based. The same for your table plan - consider a frame or mirror rather then a paper based plan.

If you have many children or elderly guests you may want to consider hiring in some gazebos to cover the sun. This may also be a little saving grace if the weather isn't looking the best but of course, our indoor ballroom will be there should the weather forecast look bad.

Consider having more informal food rather then plated food. Sharing platters, food stations, a BBQ all lend themselves well to alfresco dining. Having the tables set up a little further away from the kitchen then usual would make a plated service a little more difficult. Still possible, but it may mean a few extra staff members to ensure we don't have a delay.
